This preliminary research investigates the contextual factors influencing the leadership of women in the IT sector in Brazil, focusing on the extraction of indicators from recent business technical reports containing data from empirical research. The analysis identified and structured 69 indicators based on data from Brazilian and Latin American leaders, as well as 35 indicators from global leaders. In addition to being modeled, the extracted indicators were classified according to a framework of contextual factors influencing women’s careers in computing. The results highlight professional and individual challenges faced by women leaders in the sector, such as excessive workload and inequality in the division of domestic responsibilities. Comparisons with Latin America and the global context reveal that Brazilian women place greater value on hybrid work, invest in team development, but face higher gender discrimination. The research emphasizes the importance of open data availability to support public policies aligned with the national context and more effective business strategies, contributing to gender equity in IT.
